Dickson Board of Education Releases 2007-2008 Calendar |
|
By Angela Russell Summer has barely begun, but the Dickson County Board of Education has released its 2007-2008 School Attendance Calendar. Since Dickson Schools converted to the year-round school schedule, summer break is shorter than many parents remember from their school days. If you are planning a vacation, your work schedule, or are just curious as to the school schedule for next year, you can view the calendar in PDF format by clicking here.
This year school is set to start on August 1, 2007. The 2007-2008 school year will conclude on May 30, 2008, providing there is not an excess of snow closures during the winter months. Students will receive two-week fall and spring breaks in addition to the Christmas break, which will begin on December 21 and continue through the new year. Students will return to school on January 8. The fall break will begin on October 1st, 2007 and students will return to classes on October 15th. The spring break will include the Good Friday and Easter holiday. Spring break will begin on March 10, 2008 with students returning on March 24. Students will also receive a three-day break during the Thanksgiving holiday. State and Federal regulations dictate that students must receive 180 days of instruction throughout the school year. Officials have indicated that this calendar is subject to change depending on the number of closures due to snow or inclement weather. |
